Gary Dean Hutzel was born on November 4, 1955, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was known for his work on Battlestar Galactica (2004-2009), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) and Spy Kids (2001).
He died of a heart attack on March 3, 2016, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at age 60. He was survived by his wife, Catherine.
