Heracles (Herakles, Hercules) is one of the Lords of Kobol in the Battlestar Galactica universe. In the Ancient Greek religion, he is a demi-god, the son of Zeus and a mortal woman.

Lord of Kobol[]

Heracles figures prominently in the armed forces on Tauron. The corrupt government military force, the Heraclides and the Herac murder squads, take their names from him. ("The Dirteaters")

Tad Thorean adopted Heracles' name for his V-World avatar. ("There Is Another Sky")

Ancient Greek Religion[]

Heracles (Herakles) was the half god, half mortal son of Zeus, King of the Gods, and a mortal woman, Alkmene. He is more commonly known by his Roman name, Hercules.

The pan-Hellenic. . . hero was famed for his great strength and endurance. He was celebrated as an extraordinary mortal who, through success in seemingly impossible labours, won his immortal place amongst the Olympian gods. Being the greatest of Greek. . . heroes, he has been ascribed a multitude of adventures and heroic exploits over the centuries which were probably originally connected to lesser, more local figures.[2]
