Obol Charon

Obolus coins[1]

Obolus was a silver coin of ancient Greece worth one sixth of a drachma. Its weight was equal to 111⁄4 grains. The origin of the word comes to us via Latin from the Greek obolos - small coin, nail; related to obelos spit, variant of obelus.[2]
